2009 Drop Savers Water Conservation T-Shirt Contest

Immokalee Student wins 2nd Place in Statewide Contest

Ofelia Gonzalez and Norma Ramirez headed up the 2009 Drop Savers Water Conservation T-Shirt Design Contest this year, and our selection from the participating schools were sent to the Florida Section AWWA Statewide Competition.

Priscilla Garza representing RCMA Immokalee Community School, won Second Place in the Statewide Competition for the Kindergarten level. She received $90 in Target gift cards from the state contest, and we had her winning T-shirt made up for her.

Matias Matias and Jennifer Fuentes,also representing the RCMA Immokalee Community School for 3rd  and the 5th grade level, respectively, both received an Honorable Mention in the Statewide Competition.  They each received $15 Target gift cards from the State competition, and we also had their T-shirts made up with their designs.

Jesus Velazco, representing Immokalee Middle School, received an Honorable Mention in the Statewide Competition for the 8th grade level.

Norma Ramirez and Ofelia Gonzalez presented the winning students with the certificates and Target gift cards from the State competition. 

We also gave certificates to all of the participating students from Highlands Elementary, Village Oaks, RCMA Immokalee Community School and Immokalee Middle School.

This is a great way to bring awareness to the water conservation effort.
