Ofelia Gonzalez headed up the contest this year, and our selection from the participating schools were sent to the Florida
Section AWWA State Competition.
Ashyia Reyes, and Priscilla Rodriguez, both representing Immokalee Community School, received an Honorable Mention in the
State competition for the Kindergarten level, and the 3rd grade level, respectively.

Gabriela Ruiz, representing Immokalee Middle School, received an Honorable Mention for the 7th grade level.

Ofelia Gonzalez and Gloria Quintanilla presented the winning students with the certificates and
Walmart gift cards from the State competition. We had their designs made into T-shirts, and also gave them certificates.
This is a great way to bring awareness to the water conservation effort.
